Mel Gibson is apologizing after video shows him appearing to mock a sign language

Mel Gibson is apologizing after video shows him appearing to mock a sign language interpreter on stage at Fan Expo Canada.
The 70-year-old actor and director is seen gesturing behind the ASL interpreter during his Toronto panel, sparking backlash online from critics who called the moment disrespectful.
"Sometimes spontaneous thoughtless idiocy is displayed," Gibson tells Fox News Digital, saying there was "no intended maliciousness" behind his actions.
He adds: "I certainly apologize to anyone who was upset by it."
